I just heard word that the Ecumenical Christian Ministries building (where I held "Cirque du Beledi... in previous years) will not be selling their building to developers. They will try to retain the structure for continued community use, i.e. dance classes and conferences! WOO!!! HOOOO!!!!
Therefore, I'll get to work on planning for a conference May 2009. I've already approached the music group "Lila" that everyone was pleased with when I featured Barb Sorensen (Tribal) several years ago.
I will be changing the name of the event. But, keep your eyes and ears open for the resurrection of belly dance a la Masani style in Lawrence! :O)
